    Hi all,

Just wondering if it's acceptable to wear a black shirt with a grey suit for a graduation? There was no specific colour of suit/shirt requested, just told to where a suit basically. The tie would be black with shades of white.

I do have a light shirt and tie available also so it would be no problem to wear that, but I'd prefer to wear the black shirt so I just thought I'd ask for opinions as in pictures I had rarely, if ever, seen someone wear a black shirt.

    Thanks :)

I'm sure its acceptable but there's probably a reason you've seen few graduation photos with black shirts being worn.

Imo it looks pretty awful with a suit and is usually compounded by the need to wear an overly bright tie. I think a black shirt with a mostly black tie would also not look great tbh.

The photos you have for this are going to be hanging up in your family home for years to come, maybe it's just me but if I have to see them all the time then I'd much rather be dressed in a more classic manner.

I agree with sugarfree. Black shirts would make you look like a used car sales man, a white ot blue shirt would be better
