Questions for the test

    Hi,
Just looking for some advice in regards to my test tomorrow

When doing the manoeuvres and a car approaches, I know I should stop but then should I complete the manoeuvre or wait for them to move on?

In your opinion would I be at a disadvantage as I am taking the test at a young age (17)?

When approaching a speed bump I am not sure whether to be in 3rd or drop to 2nd.do you need to be consistent in the gear used for bumps or can you differ depending on the situation?

    Thanks

Age should not make any difference experience and maturity behind the wheel will make a big impact on the outcome of the test. For the manoeuvres always stop allow oncoming traffic the option to continue , if they wait to allow you to continue proceed with caution keeping good observations at all times in case they or another vehicle decide to proceed.
Every speed bump is different there is no hard and fast rules apart from always check mirrors before slowing down to go over. Some you will be able to take at 25kmph others I know of you need to almost stop in front of bring down to 1st and go over in less than 10 kmph. Best of luck & let us know how you got on.

One bit to add is that if you are doing the reverse around the corner and someone is coming from the road you are halfway reversed onto. If they stop and show no intention of driving past your car on the corner. Then you should carefully go back to the start.

Thanks for your advice.Unfortunatly I failed with 4 grade twos in progress on the straight and 4 grade twos in reaction to hazards. He said the hazards were parked cars in the estate and said I was pulling out too late around them.

I do not feel as if this was the case but I suppose this in not up to me.I definitely did nothing different to what I did in lessons and never was pulled up on it.The progress I think was due to nerves. To think I could have passed by putting my foot down a bit :/

However in all fairness he was very polite and explained where my errors were which I know he is not required to do. There is no worse feeling though when you can see that you have failed from the x's on the page about 5 minutes from the end.Gutted really
