Upgrading Toshiba Laptop CPU

Hey guys. Just a quick question regarding the CPU of the Satellite pro C850-14C.
Is it possible to update this specific laptop or is it a lost cause.

I've looked everywhere online for this specifically but to no avail. I emailed Toshiba and they never replied. I know the type of CPU it can upgrade to if allowed.

I haven't opened the laptop to see myself if I can because I'm not to sure how to open it correctly just yet.

    Anyway, thanks :)

Its an FCPGA988 socket. So the first filter is for compatible CPUs for that.

But its not that simple, you then have to see what the mobo and bios will allow, and what you can cool.

The machine is designed for the current CPU, you put something beefier in there, you may well overheat it.

TLDR: If you dont know all this already, I really wouldnt recommend you try. Desktops are meant to be played with, laptops not so much.

The CPU uses 35W at the moment.
So if I choose another CPU that uses 35W, will that suffice ?

I know the bios is updated most recently and according to some fellas on the Toshiba forums the bios should allow change to the CPU. The motherboard Im not to sure about so I'll just look into it more and if I'm not 100% I won't bother.

    Thanks again
