Hairline cracks in paint

Hi folks, hopefully I can get some advice from you here.
We recently had the hall, stairs and landing skimmed and then painted about 8 weeks ago.
However yesterday for the first time, mainly because the sun was shining into the hall for the first time in ages, I noticed several hairline cracks about 4 to 5 feet long in the paint.
I'll be giving the decorator a shout next week to get him to look at it but was wondering what might be involved to get this fixed.
We made sure the walls were bone dry before the paint was applied. Maybe an undercoat issue?
Will this involve the whole wall being stripped and painted again?? :(
    Many thanks.

Sounds like hairline cracks in the plaster, decorator should be able to rake them out with a filling knife and fill with a fine filler,(Red Devil Onetime is great for this). Should touch up ok as its freshly done too.

If paint cracks it is usually as a result of it being applied too thickly but appears like a jigsaw of cracks, or it could be as a result of the final coat being applied too soon, not giving the first coat a chance to dry properly.
