What are the steps to starting a business? I'm thinking of doing so.

I know the steps like do a business plan, conduct market research etc, but what are the official steps like getting registered and getting funding etc.

I said this in another thread yesterday get onto your local enterprise board about doing a start your own business course I did one myself recently and it helped me no end, if your not working it should be free or if you have to pay its €70 but the info I received probably would have cost more if I had to find it out myself

To set up as a sole trader, basically just register a business name with the CRO.
And if you're going to be above the VAT threshold, register for VAT.

That's it as far as the official requirements for getting started go.
