Hey, new to building pc's and just had a few questions to ask someone who would know more about it. I have your list of 10 questions answered, but I already have a build created, just did the questions in case anybody was going to ask me one of them

    1. What is your budget? Under 1000 euro if possible. Willing to go very slightly over if needed.

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Gaming(latest), music editing(light pro tools usage, will take recommendations on sound cards if given, but main usage is for gaming)

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? No

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? No

    5. Do you need a monitor? No. Hooked up to TV.

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? No

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? Maybe down the line.

    8. How can you pay? Paypal

    9. When are you purchasing? Next week or two.

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? Don't need help, but I'm in south Dublin.

Now onto my questions. Here is the build I have below. Some of my main concerns were about the CPU.

    1. Does a fan come with the CPU, as I have never bought one.

    2. Will the power supply be enough to power SLI with two 660's.(I am buying one, just interested for future reference).

    3. And in general, are all the parts compatible and have I forgot anything major?

    4. Case I was looking at is out of stock. Not too fussed on cases. Could anyone recommend a good one that would house all the components?

    Computer parts

    Graphics card GTX 660 Ti

    Ram 16 GB

    CPU

    Motherboard

    Hardrive

    Power supply

    Case

    Keyboard and mouse

    Dvd/Cd Drive

    First three links are bad.

Boxed CPUs come with a cooler and fan, if you want to OC you'll want an aftermarket cooler though.

Use Fluffys basket script to post builds, its linked in the stickys and will make things much much clearer for the guys here to sort through.

Have updated the links, cheers. If anyone has the answers to my other questions, it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I think people might say the following:
GPU. not too sure. Some say better off with a 7950 but I dont know if there is much in it.
Ram seems fine 16gb is probably over kill but with that budget, why not.
    CPU. The best around atm
MOBO. old chipset. you want a z77 flavor one
HDD, Probably go with a western digital blue for no other reason than I have heard its good and dont know about the hitachi.
PSU. Unsure about that brand, the super flower amazons get the thumbs up around here. how much will you need to be safe, I cant say.
Case wise its really up to preference. Bitfenix shinobi is much loved especially for the price.
The keyboard will be german layout if you buy it from them.

Sorry for the not very good info, but some one will point you in the right direction soon.

Bump. Please help. I have found out that I would need more power from a friend, but still not sure on the other questions.

MRTULES answered everything above, you don't need more power, a quality 550W power supply like the Super Flower will be more than enough.

I was told 650W for 1 graphics card, but if I wanted another down the line I would need at least 750 watt, but maybe 850 to be safe. I just wanted a few different opinions from some people more knowledgeable on this subject than myself before I made a choice. If it was a musical instrument I would be grand. I can work computers, but I'm not well up on building.

Yeh didnt mean to be rude, but most people would just repeat what's been said, components have become way more efficient,
Your build would only draw about 300 watts at load.
Maybe if your looking to go sli/crossfire in the future go for a slightly more powerful one.
Make sure its 80 plus bronze.
    Efficency is important.
7950 is better value than the 660ti, more bandwidth and higher over clock potential.
At stock its about 8% faster than a 660ti, highly over clocked if your lucky it can beat an over clocked 680 you also get free games with it.
You should also pick up a Z77 motherboard.
If your into video editing keep the 16gb RAM,drop it to 8gb if not.
On my phone so can't link you parts.

Single card with an overclocked cpu you should aim for about 500 watt psu.
650 if you plan to get dual graphics cards at some stage.
It's important to get a good brand though.
