I brought the brother a ds 3d while I was in the states not thinking It would be region locked. IS there any way to unlock the region

There's no way to unlock it. You'll have to buy the games from the US. You might be able to sell it since some people will be on the look out for a US model to play US exclusive games.

On a positive side games in the US are cheaper then here so with postage costs they'll come out the same price. Don't know what the deal with the eshop and connecting it to the internet is though...
