Racing Plan for a Spring Marathon

    Alright everyone,

I'm going to be running a Spring Marathon this year, the London Marathon on April 21st to be more specific. I'm making out a bit of a rough plan at the moment and want to put in a few races. I'll more than likely run in the Raheny 5 Mile next month and some other short races in January/February. After that, I'm not sure. I reckon there's a lot of people on this forum with a similar plan so I was wondering if they have some longer races planned in the few months leading up to their Spring Marathon. Suggestions for races in the Dublin area would be especially appreciated. Thanks.

I'm doing the same marathon and the Meath Spring Half on 3rd March, in Bohermeen just outside Navan, fits in nicely. its a great race but numbers are limited to 1000 so it will sell out. if interested get entering. another half marathon in Balbriggan on 17th March, its the first running of this so no feedback for it.
    good luck with the training!

Thanks for those two Younganne, a Half Marathon in March is probably the integral race that I really want to sort out. I'm thinking early March would be the best time for this so Navan would be ideal. I thought the Half Marathon was perfectly placed in the race series for Dublin this year. In the previous year it was a fortnight or so later and you didn't really have time to make any improvement if you're half time suggested you weren't quite where you thought you should be. Best of luck in London!
