Have a Leinster and Connacht signed jersey which my mate and I bought at a charity auction yesterday. Want to get them framed in around Dublin somewhere. Anyone know of any shops which frame a jersey? Also how much should be expect to pay?

Go to an arts and creafts shop and pick up a frame and do it yourself, way cheaper.

we did it with a Connacht jersey for my son and it turned out great. Very expensive to get it done professionally.

    Ikea for frames

Is it easy to do it yourself? I read a boxed frame is best so jersey isn't touching the glass.

I paid about €200 for a professional job. Great job but it can be gotten cheaper.

Where did you get that done? Googled a few places and sent off emails for quotes.

Definitely. Doesn't anybody do woodwork in school anymore?. I'm no Chippendale but if anyone was foolish enough to give me 200 for a frame I'd (nearly) feel guilty :p.

I gather fom your name that you might be in my part of the country. There is a framing shop on the Dublin Road in Bray, can't remember the name of it, it's across the way from the Topaz garage. I have had jerseys framed there before and it cost less then €200.

Honestly I am dumbfounded by this whole thread.

Buy frame. Put jersey in frame. Am I missing something?

    Why so dumbfounded?

When you pay for a signed jersey you want to make sure it looks well on the wall and it will last and not get damaged in the frame. Sometimes its best to get a professional to do it.

Normal frame is designed for something as thin as a piece of paper, not something like a rugby shirt. Will look cr@p if not done properly. Some shirts are framed in double sided frames so you can display either side.

I'd say most places that frame artwork would frame jerseys?

People, the OP just asked a question if anyone with past experiences of getting a rugby jersey framed. If you don't have any advise on the subject then just leave it.

Not sure what part of WW you are in (if at all) but there is an excellent framing shop in Baltinglass across from the DOE test center.

Saw a Tipperary all Ireland winning hurling jersey today framed looks great, done in Tipperary for €50 could be worth the spin if everywhere around the city is €200. Guy who owns the jersey is mates with the framing guy so he will try get the same mates rates for the two jerseys so could work out well, fingers crossed!
