How long do Ye think it would take to cycle from Smithfield to sandyford industrial estate for the average Joe on a city bike?

Reasonably fit, just wondering about new commute to work for a friend.

    Thanks

do you mean a Dublin bike? If so, maybe 60 mins. Less on a hybrid

It's 11km so about 35 minutes for an average Joe or more if the weather is against you.

I commute from the Sandyford area to City Centre regularly, down the N11. The trip from town to Sandyford can take 30-40 mins depending on traffic, lights and weather. I'd allow for 45 min at the start coming from Smithfield if the person is confident and reasonably fit.

I agree with the gist of the above: 35-45 minutes.

In or around 40mins sounds right..quicker then driving and that would be 1 1/2 hours ofexercise a day...plus you'd save around €30 to €40 in petrol and probably another €200 in car maintenance ...win win
