I had a You caller and it scared some foxs away so I flogged it away for easy cash. A good blow through caller is very good.

+1, started fox shooting the end of summer.
    Bought u caler & blower.

    Blower = 6 Foxes
    U callee = 0 foxes.

The only reason I am keeping the electronuc one is for magpies & crows.

    Hope this helps.

your foxes might know the sound you are using to well and know to run, i downloaded a call from the tenterfield whistle sight onto my phone and had a fox come running from 200 yrds but before i could get him another came to about 5 yrds from me from behind a round bale, a friend of mine can call them with a "manual" one in broad daylight very easily, the manual ones take more practice but you can vary the sound easier if you see a fox don't like it

I'd well believe that as I was on same boat. You caller is a boaring constand call that repeats its self every 5 seconds. Foxs are not falling for it and +1 on the mags. They go mad for it but got more mags with the blow through caller still. Only good thing about the you caller it gives you time to hide before putting on the mag call by remote but still cannot praise it. It was a waste of money as it only works on mags but didnt find it great for crows but not worth a dam for foxs. I do watch video's of the pro's in norway and sweeden luring foxs and they only use blow through ones. Pay 20-50euro and you have a proper caller that wont give up,no battries going dead and its better sport. :) Its good when you can lure a foxs as close as 15-25 yards in middle of day/evening and many times

right sound in the right place at the right time, do the u callers use mp3 format, you could try googling fox or rabbit distress calls for downloading, there's a fair few out there, i'm thinking of trying a mp3 player with a speaker to see how effective it is, i think the manual callers are more versitile and very effective but i havn't got the technique quite right yet, also i want to try territorial/mating calls might be good for this time of year

another idea newhunter is to chat with other fox hunters in your area and find out whats working best around you, if there's been a lot of calling any foxes left might be very well educated to certain sounds or lamping as well.

The only time i ever shot a fox with the ucaller and i used it for 2 months solid in different areas ,i was shooting grey crows at the side of a wood and it ran in to crow call:confused:. Not a fan of them, they do get mags and crows in but a mouth call does the same thing.Keep your money and put it into a good lamp or laser.
Have a look through the threads a lot of lads have different mouth calls and have success with them a lot of good tips and advice on how to use them if you do a quick search.
I have 7 different calls with me at a time around my neck or in my pocket and sometimes the best is the back of my hand.If there are no rabbits in an area the fox is less likely come in for a rabbit squeal.

Try http://www.western-rivers.com/Downloads.asp?Agree=1 , loads of calls there, free to download.

Try some of the Pat Sutton calling sequence, 111 mouse distress or 222 chicken distress or further down page wild rabbit distress call and cottontail distress 5 min.

This is what I use, I've uploaded a photo as well but the black one has accounted for 20 so far its from www.foxcalluk.co.uk the yellow one is from norway its from Clausen and has accounted for 10 the timber one is usa not used that much as I've shot nothing while using it, I've also got electonic one but I only use that in mating season. Hope this helps. P.S. The lamp is a ledray tactical on a CZ 527 .223.

I have used a green box(no name but made in italy) with 8/9 call's(crow, magpie, duck, fox) with great success on the fox's but after a year or so in the 1 area it was no more good, then changed to the hand caller(uk fox caller) and it was good for so long and with other's in the area using the same caller it soon burned itself out, so as of lately and new call's on the u caller seem's to be working.

The one thing I will say about the U caller is for foxes you will have great success with the standard call at two times of year..

December/January the mating calls are mighty.. Have called in and nailed more then a handful..

june/July (open to correction) when the cubs are about.. the rabbit call.. they come in all bushy eyed.. Nailed a heor load of em with the shotgun one evening.. 6 cubs over 3 permissions ..

Started using a fox blaster myself in the past 2 weeks.. Havent been out twice yet.. Hopefully get out tonight..

It was a mighty piece of gear mind.. knack to it like all..
