With the new year just a few days away and me dealing with my bisexuality for more than 20 years I feel I just can't deal with it anymore on my own and it is holding me back from doing anything, going round in circles in my mind. I feel I need to speak to someone about it now.
About this and a list of other things of course

Can anyone direct me in the right direction on where I should be looking and who I should be speaking to etc, any recommendations are whole heartly appreciated.

    Thanks for reading.

All therapists should have no issue helping you, there are plenty of LGBT friendly counseling services in Dublin. If you feel you need a therapist with specific experience in sexuality then simply ask, you do not have to stick with the first therapist you meet, the most important thing in therapy is a good working relationship between client and therapist. So treat your first session as an interview, it's not only the therapist getting to know you but it's about you feeling comfortable with the therapist.

    Thanks for the fast reply!

Yeah I have been to a therapist before but is was a long long time ago now and I remember the prices of them going up and up and up.
I dont know why, but in my mind I want to stay away from the LGBT counselors, too close to home or something.

Anyone else been to see someone re dealing with their sexuality?
Its all very confusing for some, like limbo I guess.

there's plenty of groups in outhouse if you really need to let it all out and get to know other lgbt people, but if you still really need a therapist you should go see Dr.James Kelly.I saw him for about 3 sessions for my GID.He's a really groovy guy. His number is 0876229972

Pricewise the average is between 50-70 per session, for a fully qualified therapist. More money is not a guarantee for better therapy by any means. There are also reduced cost centres using trainee therapists, if your struggling financially.

Interesting comment about "too close to home ".
The whole idea I would have thought was to face up to your sexuality once and for all .For many many people still in the closet saying the words "I am gay" is a HUGE thing ,but in time it gets easier.
If you go to a councellor you need to be totally honest ,about your fears, worries concerns ect .
Coming to terms with ones sexuality is different for all ,for some its not a problem others it can be awful.
If as you say your sexuality is dragging you down ,then you need to take that leap and do something about it .Life is too short to be somebody you are not ,You need to be YOU
    Good luck :)

What I mean by this is that I am out as a gay man for the past 15 or so years, being bi just doesn't sit right with me for some reason, I have no idea.

    Sorry for the bump.
