Hoping a loss to the jags will force some changes in Tennessee. It's been a very poor season and we need a higher draft pick !

Im Green Bays biggest fan this Sunday! Of course hoping my Bears beat the Lions aswell. Packers need a win for a bye so they'll be up for it.

Hoping for the vikings to do us a favour, but either way a win is required for the 49ers to secure the division.

Pretty depressing stuff alright, but an assortment of alcohol should help ease my pain.

Just looking at what's at stake.

For the AFC, all playoff places are clinched, so it's just seeding.

    Current AFC seeding:
    1. Texans 12-3 (@ Colts)
    2. Broncos 12-3 (@ Chiefs)
    3. Patriots 11-4 (vs. Dolphins)
    4. Ravens 10-5 (@ Bengals)
    5. Colts 10-5 (vs. Texans)
    6. Bengals 9-6 (vs. Ravens)

Big one is the difference between the 2 & 3 seed that means a first round bye. Hard to see the Broncos slipping up at the Chiefs, but if the slumping Texans were to lose against the Colts, the Patriots would move into the 2-seed.

    NFC...

    Sunday 6pm

Bears @ Lions - Bears need to win to get wildcard, and hope the Vikings lose.
Eagles @ Giants - Giants need to win and hope the Cowboys, Vikings and Bears all lose (if it was anyone but the Giants, you'd say there was no chance).

    Sunday 9:25pm

Packers @ Vikings - Packers need to win to get the 2-seed. Vikings have things in their own hands: if they win, they're in. Adrian Peterson needs 208 yards for the single-season rushing record.
Rams @ Seahawks - Seahawks can win the division if the 49ers lose, but....
Cardinals @ Niners - This isn't very likely against the Cardinals. The 49ers can get the 2-seed if the Packers slip up.

    Monday 1:20am

Cowboys @ Redskins - Nice game to wrap things up. Winner is in the playoffs. Loser goes home in most cases, but if the Bears & Vikings both lose, then the Redskins can still get in with a loss.

Would love to see Adrian Peterson break Eric Dickerson's 1984 NFL rushing record this year. He's 207 Yards short of the record, so it will take a huge effort from him. Throw in his phenomenal comeback from injury into the mix and I think he should have a strong shout for MVP this season.

If the Bengals win, and the Colts lose, could we have the Bengals vs. Ravens again in the Wildcard Round?

Would love for the AFC Wildcard games to be Ravens @ Bengals and Colts @ Broncos.

Brian Hoyer getting his first career start with the Cardinals. With that O Line it could be his last.

Anyone who went to the Patriots @ Bucs in Wembley a few years back would have seen Brian Hoyer

    He looked good!

Ok it was garbage time but he had a few nice throws and a scramble too.
Who knows, a good showing here and a training camp battle in Arizona and there could be a job for him
    He deserves a shot anyway

That game was also when Josh Freeman was inserted and he's been starter ever since
Josh Johnson was starter before that, he's 3rd stringer in San Fran now

Just to correct myself, he's signed with the Browns this week
I wasn't aware the Niners had cut him

Cleveland now have 4 QB's on the roster

    Don't think there's a Monday night game, it's a Sunday night game.

Game of the week looks like being Packers @ Vikings, and I'll have a very keen interest in the Texans @ Colts game..................come on Indy :p

Just browsing some stats (as you do) and I was comparing Manning/Brady/Schaub and their Home/Away records.

Player Name G Cmp Att Yds Cmp% Yds/A Long TD TD% Int Sack/Yds Rating
    Peyton Manning 7 179 269 2077 66.5 7.7 71T 19 6.9 3 8/44 108.6
    Peyton Manning(A) 8 198 285 2278 69.5 8.0 55 15 5.0 8 13/93 99.1
    Tom Brady 7 181 292 2105 62.0 7.2 63T 14 4.6 3 14/90 95.5
    Tom Brady(A) 8 198 309 2438 64.1 7.9 83T 18 5.6 5 12/84 101.0
    Matt Schaub 8 186 274 2190 67.9 8.0 52 13 4.5 4 17/135 101.7
    Matt Schaub(A) 7 140 234 1543 59.8 6.6 60T 9 3.8 6 6/56 81.6
    Aaron Rodgers 8 187 279 2046 67.0 7.3 72T 17 5.7 5 17/115 101.3

What's noticeable (& important) for me, is what Manning's record is at Home, ie. pretty damn impressive ! so..............home advantage throughout the Playoffs would be pretty sweeeet and confidence inspiring.

There's another stat there that peeks out at me, say compare Manning' home record to Rodgers, and look at the sacks, 8 v 17 !! to me that speaks volumes for our O line, great protection.

Quite happy with how the packers have turned the season around.

Delighted to see Manning prove he still has it.

While I do not like the team ****ing massive respect to Ap for his season just wow.

On a side note I support two teams, Packers and Man united, one of these days we'll get a medical staff that'll make me happy

and exciting day and we are spoilt with the NFC North battles.

at 6pm we see the Detroit Lions hosting the Chicago Bears who need to win then hope the Vikings lose

at 9.25pm we will have the Green Bay Packers going to the Minnesota Vikings looking to seal a bye, while the Vikings look to seal a post season place.

    What games are sky showing?

Bears @ Lions follows by Packers @ Vikings, Channel 4 will be showing the Cowboys @ Redskins

I think the Channel 4 product is way better than Sky.

Much more relaxed and interesting, from a presentation point of view.

    Anyone?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,004 ✭✭✭✭Realt Dearg Sec

Yeah, as long as the bears get their job done against Detroit, and there's no guarantees there, then it'll make for a very interesting packers game. Ie said elsewhere, I'm pretty excited actually to be potentially shouting for the packers, it'll be nice to support a team who can get it done on the big occasion. If the bears manage to lose to this awful lions team, then obviously I'd rather see the Vikings win. They'll be a good playoff team, and if the bears can't get through I'd rather the pack not get a bye week.

Apparently the Ravens are resting players today. Don't agree with this decision. This game could've really given us some momentum going into the playoffs.

Ravens have an arguably easier road to championship game if they lose the game.

I agree, but only if the Patriots lose at home to the Dolphins, which really won't happen because they're playing for a bye.

Any snow games in prospect tonight, been a sad omission so far this season?

Any snow games in prospect tonight, been a sad omission so far this season?

Bills game will probably be snowy.

It's snowy in Ohio but I dont think it will actually be snowing for the Bengals game today.

The Giants game might be similar, not sure how the weather is there but its been snowing like hell the last week or so.

It's been very bad in Pittsburgh, so you might get lucky in that one too. Dunno after that but Bills is your best bet.

There have been other snow games this year, Packers played one in Lambeau a few weeks back but I forget who they were playing.

Chicago have had a mild winter, which has reduced the number of snow games in the league a lot.

10% chance of snow in NE. 30% chance in Pittsburgh. 20% chance in Cincinatti. 40% in Buffalo. All according to ESPN. Unfortunately last night's snowy weather in NY won't carry on to today apparently, very snowy in Yankee stadium for the WV game last night.

Just like my prediction last week against the Texans I'm going for a Vikes win. With Green Bay already in the play-offs then their pre season target has been achieved so their minds are probably there already. The Vikes have been great at home this year going 6-1.

Also, hope AP is in touching distance come the fourth, every carry will be epic.

I'm hoping, and I think I'm right, that the bye-week is a really huge enough incentive for the Packers to chase, especially since they are playing a team that they are, basically, superior to.
