First year making money

This year has been the first year I have made money from investing in shares. My investment career began at the turn of century with an idiotic investment in Baltimore technologies & the loss of a few grand. Returned to investing via rabo funds in 2007-2008 which turned out to be bad timing. 20% down to almost flat even at this stage. Bgf new energy fund by far the worst performer and lesson learned to stay away in future from new technologies. Returned 2 investing again about 2 years ago via TD Waterhouse. Have about 10 individual company holdings & a few etfs built up over the period. Don't have any clear strategy as my holdings probably demonstrate and haven't sold any holdings to date. Have only invested what I can afford to loose and investing for long term. Generally invest in companies I know and regard highly or companies that are oversold after bad news. Successes in 2012 were Fbd +40%, Lloyds +60%, aeringus +15% up from about 40% down. Others not so successful include BP & CRH (which is now my biggest holding). Have small holdings in Pernod ricard, Ryanair, paddy power, tesco, bhp b, HSBC (have too many I know). INM was my lucky escape in 2012 & a small investment in range res was my act of folly. BP, crh & aerl are on my list to add to in 2013 at current prices.
