Freesat Tuner Problem

Strange one happened today. I had bought a new TV and decided to retune my Freesat box but when I put in the postcode I have always used, I got the message "postcode not found", I've tried several random UK postcodes with the same result. The box worked perfectly with the old TV and it's a bit of a stretch to think changing the TV would make any difference but it's the only variable. Anybody come across this?

What is the signal quality like on the screen when you either enter the post code or when the not found message pops up. Have you an option to do a 1st time install on the box. I always use SW111P on my Freesat installs.

Signal quality is excellent, for some reason it doesn't give me the first time install option although it always has before. That's worth investigating when herself is finished with Miracle on 34th Street.

Only managed to get back to this today. Checked all the connections and everything seems fine but when I try to rescan it says "insufficient signal" when I put in a postcode but it will scan on the default postcode. The signal intensity and quality are both 100% on the main BBCs ITVs CH4s but ITV1+1 is missing from the EPG and some of the lesser channels like Men and Movies and Vintage TV have no signal, I can't remember if I ever had them. If I try to scan ITV 1+1 on a different frequency I get 100% signal and quality but just blank screen. Weird.

I've concluded that my problem here is a poor quality signal, even though the on screen symbol is giving 100%. One thing that does strike me as odd is, my house is prewired for TV using a white coaxial cable, the Sky installer used a black coax to connect the dish to my attic and then joined it to the white cable but the cable at the box in my sitting room is black, which suggests another join. I can't imagine the guy wiring the house would have done this and I wasn't in the room when the Sky guy connected the box. I don't want to pull on the cable for fear it is joined and comes apart leaving me with no cable to connect to. Is the installer likely to have joined the cables at the connection box? Secondly has anybody rewired a connection box from the attic in a situation like this, is it feasible?
