The only thing you can do is apologise profusely and swear it won't happen again.

If you're drinking to the extent where you're sexually assaulting somebody (because touching somebody inappropriately is sexual assault, let's not beat around the bush), you need to stop drinking. It's not normal to get so drunk that you do those things and forget what you did.

Sexual assault .. how do you know ? Were you there ?

Forget about it op, move on, take it as a lesson learned to drink less, your also feeling bad because you're hungover.

Drink lots of water and stay away from coffee etc.

We all do things we wish we hadn't done OP, so don't beat yourself up over this. So long as you are now aware about what could happen just be ultra careful in future when on the booze. People forget so don't dwell on this. Happy Christmas.

Apologise, if you know this girl. It will help make her feel better too.

You say you have no memory of inappropriately touching a girl so obviously someone told you that you did. Throwing in the comment that you never had a girlfriend and your (forgive me) panicky posting tells me that someone is taking the almighty pi** out of you
    Chill man!

Will people stop talking to you over this? Come on... Relax! Nothing happened

What do you mean by "disappearing to the toilet"?

OP what do you mean you kept disappearing to the 'toilet'? The friends who have stopped talking to you, have you asked them why? Did the woman you touched say anything to you?

I feel we're not getting the full story here!!!

I'm sorry but I am surprised that your chief concern is that people are talking about you when it may be the case that you sexually assaulted someone all be it a minor assault. You should be more concerned about how the girl is feeling. The only way you can fix this is if you are in fact sorry about what you did which I doubt. Pick up the phone and call her and apologise like your life depended on it and don't drink so much ever again.

OP: the first thing you need to do is stop panicking. You sound quite worked up about this, which is understandable but doesn't help you.

So: calm down, take a deep breath, and let's go through things one by one.

Let's start with the drink. You say you had a few drinks, but can't remember what happened during the night. Do you remember what happened that night and this story about the girl doesn't ring any bells, or do you have gaps in your memories of the evening? If it's the latter, you might want to reconsider your approach to alcohol.

Moving on, there's the potential issue with the girl in question. Don't get distracted by other people - if you think you did something inappropriate, apologise to her in person. Don't make excuses, just apologise.

Lastly, there's the issue of other people's gossip. There's not a lot you can do about this except learn to ignore it. You don't want to be worrying too much about gossip anywa, that way madness lies.

the girl had come onto me previously when split up with boyfriend but when i came onto her they were back together

i can remember holding her hand and she didnt mind. and cuddling up to her. i couldnt remember touching her until i was told. but i remember at that point i was told to stop

i am the sort of person who bottles up everything.

i think they thought i was masturbating in the bathroom

    anyone?

You are over reacting here OP. Your mind is playing games on you. Chill out and forget about all of this. It was a nine day wonder and the nine days are up now. Happy New Year.

Ah you poor chicky. If they mention you going to the bathroom just say you were getting sick. The more you go on about it or become upset the more the gossip will continue, unfortunate but true. If I were you I'd ring the girl and just say "I just heard I was very inappropriate with you at the party and I wanted to apologise" and then leave it at that. I'm sure you'll take it a bit easer with drink too, it's not good that you can't remember bits of the night, it's not only women that bad things happen to when filthy drunk. But yeah try to calm down a bit, you'll be yesterday's news soon.
