Loose change in the ashtray. Bottle of AutoFresh and Spare bulbs in the boot.

    That's about it,

I had a huge array of stuff in the jag, even though it never missed a beat I never wanted to get caught.

Come the summer there'll be my detailing stuff in the boot, but no spontaneous cleaning sessions are likely till the weather clears up.

No, but I need to duct in some form of heating to warm the bullock up. Apparently, the boot is so large, I will need 50,000 BTUs.

The jeep is currently "empty" as I like to call it.

That means two installed storage boxes, one with tools, (cordless drill sockets, grinder, general tools etc.) and the other with breakdown/recovery gear (Tow strap, jump leads, ratchet straps, beacon and the like.) in the front is my Maglite and Leatherman, a fire extinguisher, along with the iPod, some cd's and a Santa hat.

No I'm not one of those weird preparationist, "Imma build me a bunker" types.

I normally make up a small toolbox specific to whatever car I have and do the same for the wifes car. As I service the car I'll add the odd spanner, socket or drive bit to the tool kit if it might be handy on the roadside. I also carry a few survival items in case I get stuck.

    Boot Under carpet:
Spare clutch cable (wrapped up in plastic stored around spare wheel) a precaution as I know the old cable is getting rough.
Tow rope also stored around spare wheel
Small resonable quality 1/4" and 3/8" socket set (Bahco S330) Fits in an area of foam around the spare where I suspect a factory fitted tool kit/first aid kit would go. Foam had to be cut to get it to fit.
    large pair mole grips
oil filter socket - fits socket set
Odd torx bits I've used on the car stored inside sockets in socket set.
A few standard sized spanners 13mm etc
    Hammer
    Extendable wheel brace
And of course spare wheel and jack
Plus a good few rags wrapping that lot up to stop rattles.

    Loose in Boot:
Screwdriver Set - the cheap Lidl one in a plastic box
    2l Water
10l Petrol can - not always full
Jump leads - never used (this set anyway:))
Shopping bag full of ......... shopping bags - think they are breeding in there.
    Old Barbour Jacket

Strapped to roof of boot (under the parcel shelf) with bungee straps.
Roof Rack - never know might use it one day

    In boot tidy bag:
    1l can of Oil
    Folding Shovel
    4 Chemical lights
Flame proof matches lighter and fire steel.
    2 Survival Blankets
    Small blanket
Clean Ground sheet - handy if you need to look under the car
    Rope
    First Aid Kit
    Reflective Waist Coat
    Small can of Rad Weld
    Gloves and Wooly hat

    Passenger Side door:
    Maps
    Head touch and spare batteries
    Pens

    Driver Door:
    Windup Torch
    More Pens

    Parcel Shelf:
Binoculars - cheap LIDL ones (wouldn't leave expensive ones out on display)

    Glove Box:
4 New Spark plugs, spare bulbs and fuses
    Camera
    Car hand book
Post it Notes and a few more pens
    Hand Cleaning Wipes

    Under Radio:
    Spare phone
    Sun Glasses
    Zippo lighter
    Plastic spoon

And most laughingly of all AA membership but does save me having to go out if the wife gets stuck :D

But that list reminds me I keep meaning to add a cheap digital VOM to the tool kit and there are a few items I need to put back in the survival kit.

It sounds rather a lot but its surprising how much is stored in the foam plastic that is under the boot carpet around the spare wheel. I also cut the foam so the small socket set and longer tools fit in.
