    Hey, folks. It's that time of the year again which means it's time we started nominations for the annual Films forum film awards for the year's best and worst movies. The first wave of nomination threads (Acting and Hall of Shame awards) are now live! The second (Misc Awards) and third waves (Best Films) of categories will be put up over the next week or so. Voting will be sometime in the new year.

    Well things ain't getting over, I have just the thing to cheer you up, sir and/or madam! The second wave of nomination threads have been posted, this time for the Miscellaneous Categories such as 'Best Director', 'Best Special Effects' and 'Best Background Extra in a low-budget Lebanese Production' (disclaimer: last category may not exist).

    Don't get too excited now! Channel that rabid enthusiasm of yours and go nominate over in the Film Awards forum!

    And I'd remind everyone this is just the nomination phase, voting comes later. So don't feel that you necessarily have to nominate your personal choice for Best/Worst whatever. Every year we always have difficulty with certain categories because everyone nominates the same two or three films.

    In other words, if your personal choice has already been nominated several times already, then feel free to nominate/support something else.

    Time is running out! Don't forget to submit your nominations. A few of the categories are looking a bit bare. Best American Indie / Arthouse in particular. This category always seems to frighten people away for some reason. Lots of people enjoyed Safety Not Guaranteed but nobody has nominated it. Other eligible films include Moonrise Kingdom and Silver Linings Playbook. See my list above for more ideas.
