    Teams:

    Man City:
Hart, Zabaleta, Kolo Toure, Nastasic, Rekik, Garcia, Barry, Silva, Yaya Toure, Aguero, Tevez

    Reading:
Federici, Gunter, Mariappa, Pearce, Harte, Karacan, Leigertwood, McAnuff, Kebe, Tabb, Pogrebnyak

Obvious big news for city is Karim Rekik starting at left back, very much looking forward to seeing him, having signed a big new contract lately. Kompany and Lescott both on the bench. Dzeko and Milner both also available subs.

For Reading, Karacan has managed to overcome his injury. Looks a very shakey defence, would have expected Cummings, Gorkss and Shorey to start.

Expect City to mash Reading. 4-0 at least.

Clearly! Reading not a big draw either I suppose.

Should be 2-0 already, Reading being outclassed so far. They'll be knackered at h-t at this rate.

Aguero never touched Karacan and he gets a yellow card.

how long do you think reading can hold out?
I'd be delighted if they make it to half time.

They're not looking too bad at the moment, but you just know City will score.

Level at half time. 3 or 4 - 0 at FT.

Gotta laugh at Brian "5-5-0" Kerr jumping to the defense of "parking the bus"

    Aaaaaand we're back.

Need to be more clinical as always, and we should still take this very handily.

effectively one goal and the games over.
but the longer it goes on......

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

Rekik seems to be fitting in well, definitely a legitimate option at full back. Better defensively than Maicon.

Great delivery from harte, free kick just outside the box would be interesting...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

Dzeko on for Garcia. Reading playing 6-3-1 so might as well go all out attack ourselves.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,107 ✭✭✭✭niallo27

4 goals in six games, shocking day so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

    Scott Sinclair on for Tevez.

    Mancini must have a plan...

Last change - Milly on for Rekik. Good game by the young lad. City need to tidy up the passing up front.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

Poor by Sinclair, twice in a row he's just put the head down and ran blindly when he was 40-50 yards from goal. Needs to look up at who is around him.

    Can't believe it's 0-0 at 90 minutes. Had money on over 4.5 goals :(

City have done the late goal thing quite a bit this season. Playing like ****, though.

Thought he was all over the defender there. Those are the breaks the champions get I suppose!

    FT, 1-0 City

Was very worrying for a while! Just didn't click together up front today, final pass missing.

Sinclair was abysmal, doesn't fit into the squad at all. Rekik did well, a viable option at left or right full for sure. Good performance by the whole back 4, when occasionally called upon they had Pogrebnyak fully covered.

Needed Nasri. Garcia, Barry and Yaya couldn't produce the ball for Aguero or Tevez as it was needed.

Indeed, I went over to redcafe they are gutted! (as one there posted "we've been doing this to opposition supporters for years")

On the bus back to town after the game and the thrill of seeing a last minute winner is as good in the flesh :D

We dominated and for the time wasting alone, which started after five minutes, I'm delighted we beat them.

Some below average performances but we defended well and Rekik looked very good for a debutant.

Three points was a must and we got it. In front of 47,007 as well so good crowd considering the weather.

Not sure what is going on at City, but what a stroke of luck to win. Reading were playing for the draw from the start and that does not make for good football. Even the best teams are thwarted when the other team sets up like that. Having said all that, when are City going to really get going? It was a big struggle without Yaya last January when he was playing at the Africa cup of nations, so I have to say City may do the same this time and chasing Man Utd will not be easy.
