Claim cancelled? Need advice

Hi, I returned from England in September. Had a job to go to but it didn't work out (got let go) so had to sign on.
Because I lived in England I have had to get documentation to prove I don't own properties and a myriad of other requests.
Now the letter I was waiting on from the land registry returned but they said I had sent the wrong form ( I downloaded the forms whilst speaking to them in order to avoid this) so have had to resend the correct forms back and am now waiting on them.
In the meantime I have advised the dole office and CWO of the delay and they took copies of the letter but my claim has been cancelled.
So, does that now mean I don't get a back payment even though I have kept them informed?
I went to the CWO yesterday as I have no money for Xmas and he said because my claim has been cancelled he is not obliged to give me anything but gave me a nominal amount to keep me going.
I was in tears yesterday as I don't have anything for Xmas and am at then end of my tether.
So will I get back payment? What to do now other than wait for the habitual residency issues to be sorted?
