I was wondering what ones people have used? I have one with nvidia glasses and it's awesome.

I've been seeing some saying '2d to 3d conversion', how are they, do they actually do this? Are they 120hz also, how does it work? Is there software that does similar for my current set up say? 120hz 3d nvidia.

Just wondering what the best 3d monitors are these days? Are they still nVidia vision 2? I have vision 1 and think it's amazing.
And how much they cost, are they 120hz etc.

2D to 3D conversion normally refers to converting 2D movies to 3D. It is fairly lousy, ive never seen anything convincing, especially not realtime.

The whole point of 3D is that you've got two separate viewpoints, one for each eye. With games that's easy, you just render two different viewpoints.

so even pre-converted ones are bad? So i should just stick with the official 3d videos.

Yeah, I don't find pre-converted movies very compelling personally.

And saying that, pre-converted ones have a surprising amount of man hours gone into each frame. They have dozens of artists cutting out layers to define the foreground and background and all that stuff. It costs something like $50,000 per minute of footage.

So the monitors that have a realtime 2D to 3D mode can't hope to do as good a job.
