New TV Channel/source options with a combi box?

The OH bought me a new Sharp TV for the bedroom for Xmas and I swapped out the old TV and successfully connected it up to the Ferguson Ariva 120 we have had since last year. All grand – great reception on all satellite and terrestrial channels coming from the box. However, I didn’t scan in the channels on the TV itself first and would like to have the option of using the TV without the box on occasion.
Should I have scanned in the TV channels first BEFORE connecting the box via HDMI cable? With only one aerial connection going to the combi box, is there something else I should do/get to achieve this? On our main TV connected to a Humax FoxSat, we can choose the source (TV or a number of HDMI options) and I’m not sure how to achieve this (or if it’s possible) with the Ferguson 120. This may well be a no-brainer question but I’d be grateful for any help.

A flylead like this between the aerial Loop Out on the Ariva and the TV's aerial in/RF in socket will be required to carry the terrestrial signal to the TV's tuner, once connected simply scan for channels on the TV (note the different plugs on the cable).

You should be able to pick one up locally in a supermarket/DIY shop etc., you may have one lying around that came with a VCR for example

That's perfect - thanks a million :) I'm sure I have one of those lying around somewhere.
