Forum for IT Contractors in Ireland?

    Hi Everyone,

I have worked in IT for 16 years as a permanent employee and have decided to take the plunge, take redundancy and go out contracting instead. I have my first interview lined up just after Christmas but since getting it I have heard on the grapevine that the company is one to avoid, as they have a revolving door of contractors and reportedly do not treat them well.

I'll go for the interview anyway, to make up my own mind and not least because I need the practice! It raises the question though of how to 'vet' potential employers. There must be some forum for IT contractors to compare notes on companies they have contracted to. On Googling, the most likely candidate - itcontractor.ie - appears to be no more. Does anyone know of any forums or other resources specifically for Irish IT contractors?

    Thanks.

I bet 50 quid that from your description I can guess the client!!

It's generally through your work colleagues, current and past that you hear of what companies are good and bad.
I'm in my current job 6 months but I know the next company I would like to join if I were to leave. This from talking to contractors and permies where I work
