Replacement IDE Hard Drive

Have a PC here that has about a year left in it due to XP support ending, and it's too old to upgrade. Anyway, Crystal Disk Info has indicated 'caution' (reallocated sectors), and whilst I know these things need to be taken with a grain of salt, the HD may be failing. So, I'm on the hunt for a 3.5 inch internal IDE HD. Not many on amazon, though they seem to have 'generic' brand...and for Western Digital, etc I get the 'won't ship to your location' crap. Tried Komplett, but no luck there.

Time for a new pc imo, not worth paying 50e for a hdd for machine that's not worth that.

I work in a place that still have them, not sure of price though. They're certainly more expensive than SATA disks anyway.

How about buying a sata drive using a sata to ide adapter and then putting the drive in a new pc when you get one. Loads of adaptors on ebay for about €8 delivered.

New PC has been built a few weeks ago thanks to pointers from this forum. I'd prefer not to build another so soon and am trying to take it easy with the credit card.

This is simply a PC my old man uses to replace a previously ancient one. My mother uses the newly built one.
