Was looking at the stacks of them in the shop all displayed like some sacred text. I do not have a TV nor pay any attention to RTE on the net. I last watched TV about 11 years ago. Yes I still know two of the three "stars" on the cover.

Not really, I use entertainment.ie for a t.v. guide. I don't need to know what I'm watching that far in advance. On the day is enough.

Its an easy reference to see how many times Back To The Future and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is on.

Great for finding all the crimbo movies to record on the box.

Look through the mag, then get onto the UPC guide and set em all up.

A must have IMO

the rte guide was bought every week in our house throughout the nineties , its not even bought at christmas now

Not majorly but it nice to read the features in it for Christmas and mention what's in store on TV any new movies and what might happen in the soaps, good documentaries and shows.

I love to get the RTE Guide, it really is as much a part of Christmas as sprouts, hangovers and family fights.

I go back to an era when you had to get the Radio Times for the BBC programmes, TV Times for ITV and the RTE Guide for the Irish telly. Great excitement to open each at the right page over the Christmas and circle the films you wanted to watch. This was back even before VCRs, so if 2 good programmes clashed, you scoured the others to see if one of them was to be aired on a different station later on

Ah yeah, have to get it every year before I make the trip home for Christmas. They only have the normal freeview channels and no proper on-screen guide, so I need to see what's on TV to get me through the long days in the sticks.
