Daughter tried to book flight to uk recently.. Several attempts through to paymenys page and several times thrown back to start page, eventually gone done and got confirmation email.
Next morning got email saying reservation cancelled as payment had been rejected.
So I booked a flight of her that day..

She was charged anyhow, even though email saying reservation had been cancelled.......and I appears reservation is still valid..
So now she has two seats booked on same flight...

    Call centre is useless..

    Options?

also contact the credit card company and let them know of the situation where ryanair have "fraudulently" charged the credit card.

The card company should refer the OP back to Ryanair. A technical error is not fraud.

ok, it may not be fraud per se. However, they've charged the credit card after informing the card holder that they have cancelled the transaction and therefore supposedly not charged the account.
Whether you call it glitch or not, they've charged money they've no right to. You're probably right that credit card company may just say sort it with Ryanair, but if OP can't even get a hold of customer care, cc company may be in a position to suggest an alternative.

We don't know that they've charged the card at all. If the transaction failed, it may just be an authorisation on the card which will clear in a few days when the charge itself doesn't come through.

Perhaps the transaction page was refreshed. Their system caught a double transaction and cancelled the second one.

Daughters card was charged... This is a few weeks ago..

I'm kinda thinking that the cancellation referred to one of the earlier apparently failed transactions.... But who knows..
Either way one confirmation was received followed by one cancellation.... And card charged...
