Mf 188 won't engage hi or lo gear

    Can't budge short gear lever.
    Stuck in neutral
    1234rev lever workin fine. Anyone got any ideas?

    Any chance that the bottom of the gear lever slipped out of the gear selector cup (or whatever it's called) underneath. It used to happen to our David Brown. You would think the gears were stuck, but if you took off the gear hand lever and put it back into the cup, it would work fine. That was the 123R lever though.

    No should have said we've been in through oil filler cap with pry bar an the leg o f the lever is in proper place. Can jiggle 5mm back and forth but that's it! Seems like its wedged somehow lower in the box.

    can u take the lid off the box to see any more
