Hey I bought a phone from an Ebay seller that states he is a UK seller and item location is slough UK. However in the description he states that item is shipped from a hong kong offfice. I didn't see this in time and bought the item. I just got a leter in the door looking for customs and vat for the item.. I wouldn't mind but it looks lik it will cost nearly 40 euro to get the phone and there is another UK seller selling it for 10 more that has nothing about being from HK in his listing. Any advice?

Nothing you can do about it really other than pay the customs charge and be more careful next time.

It's pretty common on Ebay unfortunately.

Not sure if you can see this or not. I can't find a listing for them as he seems to only have 1 item for sale now??

Honest enough ad, really. A UK seller drop shipping from HK.

    Dropshipper

He is based in UK but orders the items from China .

    http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/item-location.html

He states the item location in UK, report him/her to Ebay .

    Live and learn

I thought the HK shipping bit would be in the small print but FFS it is on the 2nd line of the advert!!

I had a seller say the item was located in the UK but shipped it from HK. They did refund me the duty. One of the items was faulty I asked could I send it to there UK address. they claim they were in the process of moving me and send it back to HK. I don't think there ever was a UK address

I had this happen me and I raised a dispute due to a long wait three weeks and the fact it was falsely advertised. I got a refund and the item eventually arrived so it was win win!
