    Hi,

I acquired a chaise lounge in a property sale but the problem is I have no idea if it is worth getting appraised or not. I don't know if it is an antique or a modern repo.

Its pretty big and impressive about 6 feet wide and has chunky lion feet legs.

Ill try and get pics up here and attach

Is it worth getting it appraised? Any idea of ball park price?

Pics too small to make out any detail. :)

It's not my field of collecting but it looks like it may be an antique -Victorian. Does have much sign of wear? Your local auctioneer would probably be able to give you some idea of value if you show him a photograph. Antique Chaise Longue aren't that popular as they look out of place in a modern house but in the right saleroom you would probably find a buyer. If you give me your general location I'll post up your nearest salerooms. :)

    Hi

    Thanks for your post

It does show signs of wear all right I just haven't a clue when it comes it this stuff!!

I would imagine that this wouldn't fit in modern room ( above all else space would be an issue) but its an impressive piece of furniture all the same.

    Im in Terenure, Dublin

    Cheers

Would be handy for you - to check prices - but possibly not as good a saleroom for your item.

There are others, but I'm thinking of your transport costs if you're selling. Hope this helps. :)

Its worth about €400 at auction. Mid 19th C mahogany and fairly recently recovered I would think
Like JD says they are not popular pieces of furniture.

You won't need to insure this individually at that kind of value.
