    What is the context?

Are you trying to decide what to do about your lover?

    Do you...
    (a) leave them without explanation
    (b) Lay into them with a hurley

    Bones.

Bones have a predictable healing process and while are not doubt incredibly painful (I've never broken anything!), you can be medicated up the wazoo with pain relief and physio.

I don't think anyone ever contemplated suicide because of a broken wrist...

    B then A, I'd say.

Nothing worse than two broken wrists and a broken heart.

    LOL!

Came back to Ireland to recover after breaking my collarbone, ribs and shattering my shoulder blade abroad. Never broke bones before. While home I fell for someone really really wonderful. Worked up the courage to ask her out and she shot my down and told me she was emigrating. Not a Greek tragedy but I really fell for her. It's not exactly a lot of heartbreak but still you can gimme broken bones any day.

Right now broken bones would be preferable.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 619 ✭✭✭Pilotdude5

Well I have never heard of a bone transplant

if you vote broken heart over bones, you are doing it wrong....:(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,789 ✭✭✭✭ScumLord

Definitely bones, heart problems are life threatening. A broken heart would mean serious surgery and would lead to so many complications down the road. Wearing a cast for a few weeks is easy in comparison.

    broken heart!!!!

It sucks, a lot, but usually can bring the best out of people, the reaction coming out of it, are usually extremely strong (hopefully in the positive way)

Jesus - you must be either as hard as nails physically or an emotional wreck. Collar bone, ribs and a shattered shoulder blade sounds quite sore to me, some bird i asked out saying no? While it's hardly ideal i'd certainly shrug it off a lot faster than i could heal all those bones!

I have, I've had two of them (tibula to femur), they're just more commonly known as bone grafts

I've fractured my skull before and even that was less painful and healed quicker then a broken heart.

    Furious onanists maybe?

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

"A merry heart does good like a medicine. But a broken spirit dries up the bones."

We had to sing that in school. The drying up bones bit always freaked me out though.

Heart any day, though. Just need a glass of wine and I'm happy. Casts take too long.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,963 ✭✭✭Meangadh

I have never broken a bone to be fair, but I honestly think it would still be better than having my heart broken.

I think people who say that a broken bone would be worse has probably never truly felt heartbroken. It's the worst :(

Broken bones as you can get pain killers for that.
Only time cures the pain of a broken heart.

Duhh broken heart. Having a broken heart is all in the mind. You're only fooling yourself into thinking you had any sort of connection to whoever broke up with you. Get drunk and have sex and it won't seem as big an issue.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,739 ✭✭✭✭minidazzler

Bones, they'll heal and won't be talked about again...

Friends insist on mentioning seeing my god damned ex. Fcuk those guys.

Also, you can't drunk text injuries.

Obviously you've never gone through Oxytocin and seratonin withdrawal. That sh1t physically hurts.

    Getting drunk helps though :)

I'd probably take the broken heart. I've never broken a bone (I did when very young but don't remember)

The thought of breaking a bone terrifies me :o

I stand corrected. My medical knowledge ends at applying plasters.:)

    would prefer broken bones
a broken heart requires all your ribs broken to fix it via surgery would prefer a broken bone instead.

    :D

You don't specify what bones. I will go ahead and suggest baby toe, whi8ch makes it a no-brainer.

As someone who hasn't slept for the last few weeks due to the pain from a broken shoulder my opinion might be a little biased and fuddled but give me a broken heart anyday at least a few beers and a night on the town and it all feels better for a while ;-)

I've got three grand big plates in my shoulder and I voted for the broken bones:D
