Has anyone passed their test without having a car to practice in?

    Hey drivers :D

    Up until October I had never sat in a driver's seat before (I know :eek: ) so knew nothing about how to even start up a car. I found a driving school and started lessons and learned the basics as you do.
    I just finished my 12 EDT's tonight but my test is in April and if there is any hope of me passing then, I'm going to have to really get a lot of practice in ASAP. I don't have a car though so my only practice is the lesson once a week with the instructor and at this stage I have spent over €700 in lessons, booking the test, getting the provisional etc. My money is running out and so is my time to practice. I'm in a real pickle. :( Sigh! Do you guys think it's possible to pass the test with just lessons?

    I just don't feel like it's enough.

    Passed mine purely taking lessons - this was 13 years ago in the north. Took me a year and cost me a fortune mind you.

    In other countries this is the only way to do it anyway, no driving/practising in other cars than the instructor's one allowed before you pass the test, so it is definitly possible. However, as you say, with the long wait until the test in April, it would be better to keep up the lessons until then or at least take a few more in the days/weeks immediately before the test to ensure you feel comfortable and used to driving on the day.
