it's not a Christmas song...it just happens to be about something happening at Christmas....(didn't play video in case it's worse than I imagine)

In fairness it needed butchering. Now hopefully it will be buried so we never have to hear that overplayed, overated dirge again.

It is not by accident that no-one outside Ireland ever heard of it.

What exactly are the parameters for a song to be considered 'Christmas'?

This is probably gonna be shot down and people will say it's not a traditional Christmas song. But I heard Justin Bieber and Mariah Carey's duet off "All I want for Christmas".......ruined

I hated the 2 cover versions of the original Band Aid's Do They Know it's Christmas?

The Stock Aiken & Waterman one in '89 was bad enough.

(That's some serious lisp Big Fun have at around 20 secs.)

But then the Band Aid 20 one in 2004 was probably worse again. Fukking Dido and Jamelia.. At least the bould Bono got to do this favourite line again :D

I'm sure they raised millions for charity though. And at least the only one we hear on radio today is the original Do They Know it's Christmas?

Strangly enough, I haven't heard fairytale in New York once this Christmas. Not in shopping centres, pubs or even at the work Xmas party.

I think I did a much worse version at karaoke last Saturday night. Luckily, there's no record of it. Except in the nightmares of anyone who witnessed it.

Any time Mary Byrne opens her mouth is a bad day for music but she seems to put a special effort into dragging the arse out of it at Christmas.

An alternative christmas song. It's a tune and a half!
