Can't connect Internet

I just built a pc and have connected the Ethernet cables to the router, there is a light on in the port so that's working. When I try connect to the Internet it tells me please install network adapter drivers, I presume this is on the disc that came with the motherboard? (It's an asrock 970 extreme3). Problem is I don't have a disc drive on the pc. I tried downloading an all in one drivers thing off of as rocks website and then transferred it and ran it on my via external hdd. This didn't work, would I be able to put the disc in a mac laptop and transfer the data somehow with an external hdd to my pc?

I'm using windows 7 ultimate (64 bit) btw

Help would be appreciated I'm pulling my hair out over this one.
