Personal Injury Claim.

    Okay so here's the deal.

I was 4 years old [currently 18] and was innocently walking to the local shop with my older cousin, when, out of nowhere I was ran over by a neighbour's car.

I was rushed to Our Lady's Children's Hospital in Crumlin and had sustained a broken femur and 2 other fractures on the same leg. A bad injury.

My mother never put in a claim because the lady who ran me over was our neighbour. I however, would have claimed if I'd have known I could of!

Still to this day, my leg isn't normal. It wears out a lot faster than my other leg and my hip keeps "clicking", which can be quite painful.

Would I be eligible, considering the amount of years that have gone by, to make a claim to the Injuries Board?

Any advice would be helpful :)

    Thanks.

I am assuming this is a academic question not a real one. Simple answer is yes you may commence proceedings within 2 years of your 18th birthday.

According to the charter you can not get legal advice here, best to go to a solicitor, this matter will be more complex due to passage of time etc.

Sorry, I never really post on this forum so not really familiar with the rules. I'll go read the Charter.

    Thanks for the advice :D
