Bloated stomach / unsure about stool sample

As the title suggests, I have a rather bloated stomach, but it is bloated even when I haven't just eaten (maybe not as much). Even when I was younger, a rather skinny kid I remember being almost amused by my 'pot-belly' I don't think I realised it wasn't really normal. It seems pretty disproportionate, and don't they say that's the unhealthiest place to carry weight :(
I drink very little and maybe this is irrelevant but it often baffles me at an exercise class that I seem able to do more situps/crunches than people with perfect flat stomachs who look like they'd have stronger stomach muscles than me!

Anyway I was watching something on TV about different types of stools and which are healthy/unhealthy. Some of the unhealthy ones seemed very familiar to me, but I'd find it impossible to choose one type that is most common for me, mine seem to change constantly. Is that normal because of varying foods, or should they not vary all that much?

Basically I'm not sure if I should look into this more or not, it's just that a quite a few of my close relatives have problems with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis (and sarcoidosis though I'm not sure that's similar!) and while I don't think I have any of these, perhaps I inherited a dodgy digestive system?!
