Hope Ulster blow them off the pitch

I backed Ulster before the first round at 25/1, which I thought was fantastic value. They're 9/2 now, which is still a fantastic bet.

Think they'll go all the way. Shouldn't fear anyother team in the competition

Ulster have been the most entertaining Irish team this season by far, I reckon they won't disappoint tonight.

That's a cracking Ulster team! I'm delighted to see Iain Henderson start in the second row. Interesting choice to have Williams at 6.

Also it'l be interesting to see how Doran-Jones gets on. For a lad who played underage for Ireland, making the switch hasn't really payed off internationally for him yet. It'll be good to see how Court gets on against him.

Only the loss of all their out-halfs and just having NOC is all they have to fear! :pac:

I'd say Ulster would sooner start Afoa at 10 in a HC game before NOC!

Anyone else think it's gas that most people have Lawes in their Lions 15, yet it seems to be solely based on a handful of performances 2 years ago. The guy has been very inconsistent since

Northampton have come out fighting but terrible decision-making....butchered a try there. Sloppy lineout from Ulster but their initial defence was good.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,978 ✭✭✭✭irishbucsfan

If Ken had put that ball ahead of George it would've been a try

Amazing the difference watching the creativity in the Ulster midfield when compared to Leinster earlier, so much more incisive.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,968 ✭✭✭✭phog

Saints seemed to start strong but Ulster have got nto it and could have a try already.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,696 ✭✭✭Fishooks13

Saints have started well but it won't amount to anything in the end. Ulster the far superior side

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Northampton probably should have done better there, good defence again from Ulster.

At least Northampton are fighting though, I think Ulster will be glad of a good game against a decent team, they've basically crushed everyone so far (and a dogfight in Glasgow). Even in the pro12, they haven't had a big game against a full-strength Leinster/Munster/Ospreys yet (I don't think...). This will do them good.

way too high from Trimble. He did well to cover across up to that

As physical a game I've seen. A lot of sore bodies.

Anyone notice Van Zyl stumble around a couple minutes back when Ulster were attacking. Think the clash of heads with Trimble has affected him. Needs to be taken off IMO.

30 minutes in and Ulster are down by 7. I certainly hope we're not going to see another Irish loss today.

Last week it was forward passes, this week it's handling errors. Nice to see Williams charging around though!

Williams is such a beast. Serious Tekkers with his hands.

Why is Jackson kicking ahead of Pienaar?

    10-9 now phog.

Northampton inches short there, Manoa pulled up for a double movement, Ulster got the penalty on their own line.

At the cinema so checking this on my phone, were losing? This feels so weird! :p

In all seriousness, I'm nervous :(

Tom May knock-on as he tried to get onto a grubber close to the line.

Northampton have a lot of possession but they only seem to be getting close when they go for the grubber or chip.

    Dickson's doing well imo

Awful crossfield kick from Myler with Northampton well inside the 22 and with momentum. Their pack is doing pretty well, Heywood has been impressive.

But Ulster's defence is holding up pretty well. Looks like they're going to get out of this.

    And Ravenhill is rocking...really noisy.

    Well short from Pienaar.

There have been a couple of uncharacteristic errors from Pienaar and Jackson, poor kicks, out on the full and straight to Northampton but both Myler and Dickson have done similar.

Manoa is having a big game, I remember Munster targeted their restarts last year, but they've been really solid today while Ulster have been a bit shaky.
