Interesting report from the CSO here.

One of the shocking things it outlines is the number of people working in the city: "a 10.5 per cent decrease from 25,134 workers to 22,488 over the five year period". This was the worst decline in the country - something I think we already knew!

Limerick county had a severe decline too, and that would probably be accounted for by the fact that a lot of Limerick's employers would be outside the city boundary - that city has been hit hard too. Cork and Galway saw increases in the numbers employed.

More proof that Limerick and Waterford are being passed over for job creation in favour of Cork and Galway!

Shannon would include those working outside limerick so would distort the figures a little bit. Limerick are not doing so bad at all really, maybe not as much jobs as galway but plenty all the same(in comparison to us)
