Frasier Seasons 1-11 box set

Does anybody have this box set?

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Frasier-Complete-Seasons-1-11-DVD/dp/B002D3ZJD0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1355433367&sr=8-1

I'm sure many of you have seen it in HMV for €49.99, which is cracking value for such a classic show. I'm thinking of picking it up, but the Amazon reviews have me worried. Seemingly every disk is encased in a flimsy cardboard sleeve and many found disks were scratched by the corrosive surface of the cardboard. Anybody here find similar, or found it okay?

Alas it would be a present for somebody who doesn't have Netflix, but thanks!

I bought the Frasier 1 - 11 boxset over a year ago from Amazon when it was on special offer.

It is fantastic value, there are over 40 discs in the boxset. I've had no issues with the product at all, and I've played the DVDs over and over. I'd highly recommend it, I think it would make a great gift, it has certainly given me hours and hours of viewing pleasure.

    Edit:

Here are some pictures of how the boxset appears on the inside.

I got a box set of Monk that was packaged like that. Its a bit ****ty looking but the discs were all ok.

The ones MrsD007 posted look like they're well packaged.

I wager the ones the OP read about on amazon with all the scratches and flimsy cardboard sleeve are possibly this variant?:

I'd say you'd be safe enough buying the set if it's the MrsD kind.

Yeah have always meaning to get it myself as i have only half on dvd, but someone got me the Frasier Christmas dvd last year, hilarious but waiting for the rest to come!

It looks like the reviews are mish mashed up between two different versions out.

According to camelcamel it was cheaper last month, but as usual Amazon put it up in price :( Maybe wait until New Year?

Yeah, the one roanoke links to are the ones HMV currently have. The box set MrsD007 has looks like it has better packaging.

I decided to go for it anyway, so here's hoping the disks are okay. Thanks all!

Let us know how you get on, as i'd like to get it sometime myself,
as it's really intelligent comedy as i've every ep on vhs & the paramount comedy ch w/ends recorded onto dvd
big change in price as i remember they were about £20 for one series years ago!

It reminded me how funny it was when i saw it on Comedy Central the other nite:

There are some full eps here

    I've never seen this before:

    I've never seen this before:

That was part of a Star Trek 30th birthday special.

I'm not sure if it was ever on tv, but I had it as part of a Star Trek 1-8 boxset back in the VHS days.

I reckon this is the imdb page for it.

Yeah i'd imagine it was only on US Telly, with most of the Frasier cast it was funny in it.

    I've never seen this before:

Dont thin Kelsey has either.. he was meant to be in it, but went off on a bender instead.. Surprised David Hyde Pearse trips over his lines twice in this, he's usually rock solid.

Yeah Kelsey was flying high himself.
David Hyde Pearce was the real star of the show with his mannerisms & quips, cracked me up every time.

You'll probably enjoy these so.. Only found this myself recently

Yeah i came across that one yesterday amongst many others i'm still laughing at, but this one from the 4th series 'Ham radio' has got to be one of the funniest :)

ITV or Ch4 I think showed it. I can remember watching it 1 day

Sorry, I never reported on how I got on with this.

The set is perfect to my eyes, just got through season one and the cardboard box hasn't left a scuff on the disk. Forgot just how damn good this show is.
