    Hey, I'm an idiot.

    I finally got around to fixing my samsung nc10 and I got home all excited to use it when I switched it on I realised I'd forgotten the blooming password... And I'm not gonna remember it either, I changed it just days before I broke it and I pick the most obscure passwords so it's lost forever.

    I hunted around the house and found the original box it came in and inside where the leaflets (no help was found in those) and the recovery disks ("system software media" and "system recovery media"), I used the system recovery one (I used an external drive) and did a basic restore because I didn't think there was anything on my drive worth saving.

    Needless to say this plan failed, I was just met with the same log on screen.

    HOW CAN I LOG ON preferably without buying some password recovery software...

    Is there not some kind of reboot I can do to just wipe everything including the password becuase I just don't care anymore...

    It's ok. I figured out a way to wipe my drive...

    Plenty of tools online to clear XP/Windows passwords, you will generally have to download them onto a usb stick and then boot from that.

    Most are piece of cake.
