Kindle vouchers - buy from amazon.co.uk or amazon.com??

My nephew is getting a Kindle for Christmas so I'd like to give him vouchers so he can buy ebooks for it.But I'm hearing different accounts on whether I get vouchers from amazon.com or amazon.co.uk.He's mad into the Skulduggery Pleasant books,the latest of which is not available on amazon.com,but is available on .co.uk.So I'd prefer to get vouchers from it.However I've read that people have purchased from .co.uk and then received an email requesting photocopy of utility bill or passport.Is this true and whats the best way to be able to get vouchers for Kindle?

If he's in Ireland, you can only buy kindle books from amazon.com

Yep,he's in Ireland.But the latest Skulduggery Pleasant isn't available on amazon.com so no point getting vouchers for it.Is there any other options?

Umm isn't this the latest book here. It's listed poorly, true but I'm pretty sure it's the one he'd want

Not really. I've tried to a few times using proxy servers & giftcards. I've been successful a few times but they always catch on eventually and put a stop to it.

Does the Parcel Motel thing not work for this like other items purchased from amazon that they stupidly dont deliver to Ireland.

Colleague of mine just bought a Kindle Fire and got it delivered to Ireland through Parcel Motel.

The OP is looking to buy a gift voucher so his nephew can buy an ebook, not so he can buy the kindle itself.

I'm afraid this is a bit late for the OP.

I tried to buy a gift card from the .com site last night, but they wouldn't ship it here. The alternative, and just as effective, is an email version. Search the .com site for 'gift card email', and you should get this. Then set the amount, email address, pay and away you go. Handy for a present and you can set when you want the email to arrive, which might be useful if you're on birthday duty. However, if person you're buying for is not too familiar with the Kindle you might be better off getting it sent to yourself and printing the email/voucher code and sticking it in an envelope in case they accidentally delete it as junk mail.

I got Life of Pi $0.40 and Oliver Sacks's Hallucinations for $3.78, it deducts the spends from your gift card balance. Pleased enough with it so far...obviously there's the charge to the credit card, but at least further purchases won't land there until I need to buy another voucher.

Yeh,I just ordered a voucher from amazon.com,printed it off at home.It comes as a nice wee card and you can type a message on it also.Nephew was chuffed with it!My brother is gonna set up an amazon.com account using his email and then he's ready to start downloading ebooks.

It doesn't matter anymore which site you buy them off, he can buy from either .co.uk or .com, you need to switch your account under "account settings" on Amazon
