Graphics card not showing in display adapters

    Hi all.
First build up and running, however i have noticed the HD7950 does not show up in display adapters, just the intel hd4000 onboard one, the same when i run dxdiag. The card is seated correctly and the fans are running. It is connected with one 6pin connector from the psu marked pci express (this cable has a second 6pin connector marked 'sli ready' with another 2 pin off this, i have not connected these to the gpu). I also have set the pci e as primary in the bios.

Is this a case of 'Lucid Virtua' selecting which gpu to use?

Also i currently have my monitor plugged into the motherboard not the HD7950 but should the HD7950 not also appear in 'display adapters'?

    Any help appreciated.

Drivers installed? (It's not hiding under 'Unknown devices' with a warning symbol beside it by any chance?)

Yes latest drivers from the website installed (im tempted to throw in the manufacturers disc and install). Just checked for unknown devices, there are none and i have no exclamation marks

Is the one 6 pin connection okay? there are two sockets on the gpu

The two should definitely be in, although I am not 100% convinced that that would cause it to not start, as in theory when it the card is idle the PCIe slot and single one plugged in power connector would be able to power it until you try and put it under load, at which point it would crash (Although it is entirely possible that the card can detects the missing PCIe power connector and refuse to boot).

Anyway my inane rambling aside, it is by far the most likely solution and the first step that you should take is to put the second connector :).

Just got it up and running, it was the second cable. Funny as I tried that previously and it wouldn't even boot for me. All well that ends well I suppose! Thanks for the advice Marco, much appreciated!
