Etihad are to start using a 777-300ER from DUB from the 2th of July 2013...
    Abu Dhabi – Dublin eff 02JUL13 EY045/042 2-class Boeing 777-300ER replaces A330-200 (6 weekly service; EY041/048 remains 4 weekly A330-200)

Great news! The 777 is superb in the EY livery. I think it has visited DUB before?

Nice to see non-price competition in DUB for a change. EY and EK are a breath of fresh air.

The aircraft can still park on 400C just like the 330 does at present I wonder will they get one painted up in the Man City colours.

That's great news, it's nice seing aircraft other than the usual 737s, A320s and A330s at DUB.

773, doesn't Emirates use a 777-200ER? Is there much difference in capacity between them?

The takeoff shots of a 77W taking-off from DUB are great, bu personally I find the landings much more impressive :)

If I was travelling on one, I would definitely prefer A330 to 777 for it's seat configuration! much nicer to have the option of sitting in rows of 2.

Nice, I flew on Etihad's 777 before with the 3-3-3 seating config and it is a sweet machine, much more space than the sardines can config of Emirates 3-4-3 on their 777's. Hopefully the additional capacity might lower fares a little.

Saw in the Irish Times that there are (reportedly) just 28 J seats on the 773 for Etihad.

How does this compare with Emirates? And I'm sure they have different configurations for different markets, it does seem very low for a plane of that size.

Pretty sure that's correct for the 77W's they have. Emirates certainly have ones with just 30 business seats and the rest Economy

Here's the EY seatmap for some of their B773's.

    28J/384Y seats (in a 3-3-3 config)

They also have a 8F/40J/282Y config B773. They operate the higher capacity on AUH-LHR, I would assume that DUB will get a similar aircraft.
(As a comparison their A332 are 22J/240Y, so a jump in capacity of 148 seats)

They would free up some seats for larger cargo handling as cargo is a major profit for those two middle-eastern carriers at the moment.
