Hi folks If anybody can help.my oil fired heating system is out of commission for about 18 months due to the fact that I got poor..so put about 60 litres of heating oil in for the Christmas started her up no joy Riallo burner on a firebird.it was just serviced before it was shut down,,cant afford to call the guy back.the problem is that there is no oil reaching the nozzle so it just goes to lockout I have a tiger loop on the oil line, I reckon its that or the oil pump/solenoid I was going to disconnect the oil leads from the tiger loop and rig up a small container /gravity feed and see if the oil pump would work do tiger loops seize up or give trouble?

60 liters of oil in your tank may not be enough to get the oil flowing. Have a look in your tank and see is it covering the out let.

You may need to get more oil if you are using your oil tank.

If you decide to lift the back of your tank be carful as it may stir up gunk that can block you burner.

You could have stirred up alot of sludge that was lying on the bottom of the oil tank for 18 months. Definately check oil filter and double check that oil in tank is over the outlet fitting

Not sure on the amount but it'd want to be at least a few inches over the TOP of the outlet. When your pouring in the kerosene close the valve at the tank for a few hours to let all the ****€ settle back to the bottom of the tank

At the filter you will need to loosen pipe and bleed the system it will also be air locked then you know if its flowing correctly.

Be prepared to fork out for a new tank if lifting because they don't take well to been moved when fitted the plastic ones that is.

If it is seized internally, it is a new one required. To check properly, it must be removed and spun by hand independent of the motor.
