Ruger all weather .223 ?

    I have one in .308.

The trigger--- They call it the "lawyer proof trigger". It's non adjustable, and heavy, I looked up what it would take to adjust it, you have to grind off a piece of the trigger and polish the sear and a couple of other things. It's by no means unworkable but it takes some work. I spose your best bet is a timney trigger.

Tha stock--- Cheap, standard, plastic, and can't really be glass bedded. I free floated it myself. I will get a proper one next year.

The action--- the bolt Can't be fluted, which I wanted to do. it's also loose when pulled back all the way. And it's not as smooth as I'd like it.

Sights--- No iron sights. But every m77 rifle comes with free mounts. Regardless of what the dealer says- every rifle is shipped from ruger with these fitted. So be on the ball if he tries to charge you.

All this said i wouldn't change it for anything!! You can get a lot of aftermarket parts for a ruger. I mean it's not the perfect gun out of the box but I'm putting 3 rounds in a space the size of a euro at 100yards.

The things I've said are about my rifle. Others might be better. So don't judge them on mine! Get a few comparisons. But if I was buying again I would probably buy a tikka t3. A mate of mine bought one lately in .243 and it's very impressive.

Just out of interest where are you based?? If your near me, I'll meet you and you can have a look at mine. Have you prices one here with anyone??

Friend has one in .204. He loves it.
I had a 77/22 all-weather in WMR. you get a Volquartsen sear for very little that made it a dream to shoot. Also the bases on the WMR were integral to the receiver- which I loved.
