Lenovo G780 Onboard and dedicated gfx card issue

    Hey Folks,

In a nutshell, I'm trying to get my lenovo G780 to use the dedicated graphics card (GT630m) for when using an external display.

When I use HDMI it auto uses the onboard graphics Intel HD for extending my desktop to another monitor.

Within the set Physics option, I note that the GT630m is listed beside the VGA slot, so I went and bought a VGA cable in the hopes this would solve my problem.

Now when I attempt to extend my desktop to the external monitor, it's as though it won't detect it and when I click apply, my laptop monitor acts as 2nd monitor or extended desktop.

Curious to see if anything else would work I attempted to connect through "connect to a projector" and funnily enough that seems to work, but of course that's sending a projector signal to the external monitor, but at least I know it's not an issue with cable or monitor.

I've updated all drivers etc and still no luck, this dedicated/onboard combo is really starting to get on my nerves, everything with the onboard quality wise is terrible.

Contacted Lenovo, they didn't have a clue and instructed me to go to Nvidia, who then in turn instruct me to contact my laptop manufacturer, Lenovo.

Big long drawn out sigh :pac:

    Resolved!

updated driver issue, I simply rolled back to an older driver and this resolved the issue.

Actually not quite, still using onboard, sigh. Anyone know if it's possible to force the dedicated card to use the hdmi/vga?
