Customs are charging €50 on an android tablet costing 107 from lightinthebox.com when you can get a similar tablet in Harvey Norman for €97 (reduced from 129) which i would have bought if the deal had been available at the time. Anyone know if I can argue the case with them?

€107 * 23% = €24.61, so you should only be paying €24.61 plus whatever admin charge.

    Which courier company is it?
They all charge a different admin fee, starting from 10 blips, think that the max is 15 Euros.

UPS demanded 50 and when I didn't have it took the parcel back to their finglas depot and said I could collect it when I pay the €50. Grrrrr!

Admin fee , VAT/Duty and other charges are different matter.

Are there any additional fees involved in international shipping?

In some cases, there will be VAT or other taxes, customs duties or fees levied by your destination country. Additional charges for taxes or customs clearance must be borne by the recipient; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs and taxation policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for further information. When customs clearance procedures are required, it can cause delays beyond our original delivery estimates.
