Calculating PAYE Refund?

Sorry if this question has been asked before but I can't find a specific answer to my query.

I finished work at end of September as have moved abroad. I am hoping to claim back tax for the year. How do revenue calculate how much tax I am owed?

Also work have issued me with a P45 but have said that my term of cessation was October and my P45 indicates that I was paid for this month but this is not the case. I should have been removed from the payroll in September. I was not paid for October but only received my P45 in November.

My main concern is that the incorrect details on the P45 will negatively impact on the tax refund I should receive so if some light can be shone on this it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Maybe you were paid holiday pay , which brought your date of leaving forward to October .

Anyway , the date is not important , as it is your annual tax credits that will be off-set against your tax liability.
