Pajero 02 2.5ltr diesel

I have a 02 Pajero 2.5ltr diesel and I need some advice regarding the speedo and fuel gauge.

    1. The speedo reads 40mph when the jeep is actually doing 62mph, would this be a problem with the digital speedo :confused::confused:

    2. The fuel gauge is fluctuating, sometimes it will read 3/4 for ages and when you switch off the engine and switch on again it reads nearly empty. I have being caught out a couple of times running out of diesel .

Would this be the sender unit in the tank or again a problem with the gauge.

    Any help greatly appreciated.
