Am looking on what your thoughs are on a full bred charolais calf weanling i bought at mart 2 weeks ago, he is six months old at 270 kgs. I buy in weanlings and run them on as bullocks but seein he is full bred and is a right shape off a fella, (no papers with him tho) Am wondering will he have the makings off a good bull in him and if so what do i need to be feeding him and so on..

    Thanks in advance,

I was just thinking Massey if his breeding was any good at all he wouldn't have been sold on but that's just [/U]a thought ! Good Luck with him anyway.

I sold on the odd one up and down that were very well bred. I wouldn't have liked the way they turning out though.

@OP. You have him there now, 270Kgs at 6mths isnt overfed. If you like the look of him chance him on.
When were you hoping to put him to work?
    Are you sure he's PB?

At that age I'd be offering him a ration with high protein level.

Put his Tag No. into www.icbf.com and have a look at his breeding.

Tried to check it but it seem you need to pay a members fee to log in.
As in puting him to work, i only keep bullocks so would intend to sell him on as a bull depending on how he turns out, and he was sold in the ring as a pb.
