Last May I got advice for a build for my father, (which I was very greatful for, thanks guys for your time!) but I actually postponed it as I got his pc working alright with puppy linux. It's totally goosed now so will be buying now straight away. This was the criteria back then, nothing has changed

    1. What is your budget? [€300]

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? [Internet]

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? [No]

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? [Hard drive, DVD-RW] [Dell Dimension E520 Pentium D]

    5. Do you need a monitor? [No]

5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future? [1440x900] [No]

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? [No]

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? [No]

    8. How can you pay? [Bank Transfer/Credit Card/Laser]

    9. When are you purchasing? [Now]

The spec I got back then was as follows :

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=78478207&postcount=5

After 7 months so can I get better parts now at similar enough price or is this still a good deal?

Note, The ASRock H61M-HVS (B3), Sockel 1155, mATX for €40.22 isn't linked anymore.

    Thanks for any assistance ;)

    Item|Price
    Intel Celeron G540 Box, LGA1155|€37.11
    ASUS P8B75-M LX, Sockel 1155, mATX, DDR3|€52.38
    4GB G.Skill PC3-10667U CL9|€14.58
    BitFenix Merc Beta|€32.04
be quiet! SYSTEM POWER BQT S6-SYS-UA-300W 80plus bulk|€29.80
    Samsung SSD 830 64GB SATA 6GB's Basic|€59.99
    Shipping|€18.99
    Total|€244.89

Pretty much same build as before except there's an SSD in there now. Also I would of picked the case that Flying originally spec'ed out but it's OoS with Delivery Date Unknown.

Actually Flying had a Pentium in there instead of a Celeron. A Pentium isn't needed for Internet browsing, I doubt you'd even notice a difference tbh, the SSD however will make massive difference.

Thanks Tij. Never even thought of the SSD.

I remember there being a thread somewhere about the difficulty to pay hardwareversand. Is this still the case I wonder.

Are they fast to ship as I need it before xmas anyway.

Also, is it right they'll build it for e5?

It's not that difficult at all. You pay by bank transfer through Internet Banking or just going into the bank with their account information. They will e-mail you that info after you place the order.

Shipping time can vary but you should get it before Christmas, expect it to take over a week as bank transfers can take some time to process. Just make sure that all items are in stock before you place the order.

Yes it is. Throw it into the basket when you order and it'll arrive fully built for you. Then you can throw in the DVD drive and HDD after if you need them.

Thanks for all the help. Just bought it and paid for it through PayPal! Quick and easy. There was a e6 charge for PayPal but was well worth it for an easy transaction and sure the building of the machine for a fiver is a steal anyway.:)

Got that pc delivered yesterday. I must say, some service. I actually thought the pc case was empty it was so light! I was saying in my mind, the b@stards didn't build it for me but of course they did.

I've had no experience with ssds before but jeez, win7 boots up in 5 secs!

Overall very happy. Thanks for the help Tij ;-)
